Spring...Really?

Isn't this lovely?? We woke this morning to a good foot and a half of heavy wet snow. Can't complain... I guess? We needed the moisture, so here it is!

The kids at least made good use of the day. Mike helped to build this snow fort that Ethan and his cousin Spencer proudly claimed as their own! Don't forget about Dexter, if you look close you can see his best feature standing out behind the fort!

Props to Renaissance! On Ethan's last winter expedition, they taught the kids how to make a snow shelter for survival. Not that we need to survive outdoors in these condition's, but at least we know how if it ever comes to that! I love that school.

Our poor tree's took the biggest hit. After a long cold winter, we thought they would pull through. That was until this morning's heavy snow overpowered the fragile branches and gave way. You can see how they broke clean off and fell to the bottom of the tree. Looks a little naked now, don't ya think?

Gabrielle was well equipped...with one glove that is! Needless to say, her time in the snow was short spent.

Isabella was glamorous as usual. I mean really, how could you play in the snow without Dora goggles? Anything less would be absurd!

Don't tell Abbi about the snow fort. We kind of like Ethan the way he is and let's face it, he's the only boy we've got!

Madison chose to spend the day indoors wearing her pajama's, sipping hot cocoa and watching movies nestled in front of the warm fireplace. That's my girl!

Blog Worthy

Okay...so I thought you would get a kick out of this story, totally blog worthy! Today Mike picked the kids up from the bus stop. On the way home they were talking about how every one's day went and anything eventful that happened. Ethan pipes up and says he got 100% on his spelling test today, and he didn't even study! Abbigayle then says " I forgot my F'n butterflies"! What? Mike asks again what she just said. "I forgot my F'n butterflies". So by this point Mike is thinking, where in the heck is she learning about the "F" word? He tries to explain to Abbi that it's not okay to say "F'n" even if other kid's at school are saying it. She looks a little puzzled and says, "No dad, I mean I forgot to put my f in butterflies"!

So... apparently we just taught our daughter about the "F" word!

Were Back

We are back...finally! We took a short, but very long trip to Utah. My brother was visiting from New Jersey and thought this would be a great time to catch up with family and friends.
We decided to break up our 7 hour drive by stopping in Glennwood Springs and staying the night. We stayed in the old Colorado Hotel, it was seriously like a scene right from the movie "The Shinning". REDRUM, REDRUM...

We had a great time swimming in the hot springs. The kids learned pretty quick not to swallow the water. Salty!

They kept asking why it smelled like rotten eggs!

One of my favorite parts of visiting Utah is no doubt, the food! Fry sauce heaven. Training table, Arctic circle, Apollo burgers...you name it, we ate it!

Gabrielle didn't quite get the fry sauce, she is more of a ranch dressing girl. I guess that's what happens when you are born in Colorado?

Carnivore!

We love Macy! We had so much fun spending time with Macy, we don't get to see her near enough. Every time Macy and Madison see each other, they pick up right where they left off. Within a matter of minutes it's all giggles and fun.

So... back in the car we go for our 7 hour drive home, this time without any stops. It's always hard to leave our family and friends, but it's always great to get home to our own beds!

Poetry Night

Last night was the 2nd grade crew's poetry reading night at Renaissance. I have to say I was very impressed with all the kids and their presentations. Although a little nervous, they did a great job and their hard worked paid off. Good work Miss Sarah's Crew!

Here is the video of Abbigayle sharing her Acrostic and Haiku poems....

High School Musical Ice Tour

Top Row: Madison, Velzy, Morgan, Abbigayle.
Bottom Row: Paige, Lauren, Bella, Avery.

Okay. So I have decided I am a little blogger impaired today! For the life of me, I can not figure out how to turn my video clip? Regardless of the counter clockwise position, it is still hysterical and extremely cute. This is footage of Avery and Bella at the HSM Ice tour in Colorado Springs today. They danced like this non-stop through the whole show! I needed a nap after just watching them. I have to give prop's to Korie though, who rocked the house almost as much as the girls did! We had a great day spending time with friends and enjoying a few cheap thrill's on Disney's behalf. Seriously...Where do they find some of these people?

Troy, Gabriella and Kelsey.

Sharpay, can't you tell?

Merry Christmas

Wow! I can't believe it is already over. So much work, so little time and it's over. We had a great Christmas and would like to share a few of our highlights....
Can you say neighborhood watch? We were amazed at how well these night vision goggles really worked. We all had fun taking turns in the darkest place in the house, the bathroom, to try out the eye clops! Ethan did also get Indiana Jones Lego's to occupy his daytime hours!

I love this picture! I was really trying to get bella opening her first gift, but didn't realize Abbi had already opened hers. You can just see the excitement on her face. She finally got a camera, a real camera! I love it!

I think Madison was a little overwhelmed! She got the one thing she really wanted, but wasn't quite sure what to do with it. Needless to say, Mike spent the remainder of Christmas day installing batteries, reading directions and eventually explaining to Madison how her DS works. What happened to the good old days of Atari?

Bella was all about fashion, and Dora! She was so excited about her new "puff vest" that she had to try it on. I have to admit, it even looks cute with her Dora P.J's!

Gabrielle had a great time playing with everyone Else's toys! Who can blame her though? I was even tempted to play with the cherry scented barbie!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have a great New Year to come!
